The Milan hotel industry appears to be experiencing a definite upturn of late, and the Principe di Savoia, one of the city’s most prestigious hotels, has inaugurated its new event spaces following a complete restyling that required three months of work and an investment of almost 3.5 million euro.  The Cristalli, Galilei, Marco Polo, Veranda and Marconi Rooms, covering a total area of 750 square metres, have been been given a new identity with modern new fabrics, colours and the latest technology, all the while maintaining the timeless elegance for which the hotel is renowned. The heritage that has been the hotel’s signature since its opening in 1927 has been preserved intact and combined harmoniously with the state of the art technology essential for the meeting areas. ‘In recent years Milan has become an incentive travel destination. This segment has shown strong growth in the wake of Expo 2015, and we wanted to be able to significantly and constructively expand our services’ said General Manager, Ezio Indiani. Events now account for almost 15% of overall turnover for the renowned hotel in Piazza della Repubblica, one of the Lombardy capital’s landmarks.  ‘We want to grow. We provide our guests with newly- furbished, technologically advanced spaces that still maintain the refined Principe di Savoia style’ added the General Manager. This latest restyling of the hotel is now complete, with no less than 60 million euro having been invested in upgrading the common areas, lounges, rooms and luxurious suites since 2010.
