FALCONERI PERSONALISES ITS GARMENTS AND GOES FOR A SPORTY STYLE
When we decide what to wear, it’s never a random choice. It’s actually a distinct desire to express our personality, communicate our feelings or signal connections and references.
Three generations engaged in one creative project lasting 65 years, which the Missoni family have chosen to celebrate with the creation of some very special garments and a spectacular Milanese show, and by recounting stories and emotions in a documentary covering each event which has made the famous Italian fashion house what it is today. ‘This is the story of a lifetime, hard work and sophisticated craftsmanship. I think we have managed to convey the significance of our roots, but also the immense enthusiasm we have put into our work down through the years’, declares founder Rosita Missioni. From fashionable knitwear to a passion for art, from the creation of the Foundation to the company’s debut in the world of design, along with the launch of home textile collections. All of which has contributed to the success of a long-consolidated signature brand which is one of the most enduring and inspired on the international scene. Today’s objective is to consolidate business activities in Europe, the United States, Japan and the Middle East and, with perseverance, to make a foray into the Chinese market where the brand is not yet active. In the meantime, there has been an ever growing attention towards product research and refinement, while some iconic garments have been revisited lovingly. When two long-established family firms come together, their marriage is bound to be a success, judging from the fruits of the collaboration between Italy’s Missoni and the Spanish company Castaner. Together, the two brands have created a collection of fun espadrillas and bags, by placing the accent on chromatic effects that are sure to please. Any reinterpretation of the famous Spanish footwear entails playing with a vivid colour palette, strong contrasts and, above all, geometric prints, the most outstanding of which is Missoni’s characteristic zigzag motif. Shoe styles for women have therefore been redesigned in various colours and different heel heights: wedge, flat or with ankle ties.
